Ghost Train at Mushroom Tunnel

I've shared this story with some of my friends and it's quite crazy so I thought i'll share it with you as well. About 16 or so years ago I went on a ghost tour with my husband. The tour was happening at this place called Picton in NSW Australia. The tour started at night and on that particular night it had rained so many people cancelled. There was about 11 of us, one of which randomly was an 11 year old child.

The tour started as normal tours go, we visited some buildings which were apparently haunted and to be honest nothing amazing happend there. We even visited the graveyard of some convivites.

After that we went to this place called the Mushroom Tunnel. Initially the tunnel was a railway tunnel built in the 1800's but at some point in time it was used for growing mushrooms. When we were there we were told that a girl had died in the tunnel. I recall looking at the blackness of the tunnel (this was about 11ish pm), and you could make out a shape in the tunnel. It looked like a female but it was hard to see becuase I wasn't sure if my eyes were making things up.

We weren't allowed to go inside the tunnel becuase it wasn't structuly sound so we stood infront. All of a sudden the temperature of the tunnel dropped significantly. We all started to shake. In the distance we all heard a train noise. The train nose was of those old style of trains where you can hear the wheels rolling. The noise got closer and closer but it wasn't just the noise there was a light too. The train got closer and just before I guess it hit us, the 11 year old boy shined his torch into the tunnel and there was nothing there. A gust of wind blew past us as if some sort of vehicle went by fast. We were of course reallty weired out but we also thought that somehow someone had done something.

As we were leaving my husbandf and I saw a couple behind us. They took a photo of the tunnel with their digital camera. All of a sudden the couple runs up to us and shows us what was in the photo. In their photo you could clearly see a torso of a man wearing something red.

When we left the tunnel, we told our tour operator what we saw. It was there she told us of the male ghost but becuase he was violent she didn't want to tell us about him when we were at the tunnel.

When my husband a I came home we spent quite a lot of time trying to figure out the light of the train, we thought maybe somehow a car light went through but behind the tunnel was just farm land.

We ended up doing the tour again and this time nothing happened.

By the way, Picton is apparenlty the most haunted place in Australia.
